Zisimos Souflas

Senior Student

The two Senior Students form the head of the Committee, and keep the rest of the committee in line, as well as represent the hall at university-wide events. They are “first-among-equals”, and on their shoulders rests the honour and dignity of the hall. So, no pressure.

Elle

Dan Slobodian

Treasurer

The Treasurer is the curator of the hall’s bank account and the person that the rest of the Committee needs to badger for the funds needed to do the fun things. This gives them an inflated sense of self-worth, and they often need to be reminded of their place.

Dan

Catherine Baker

Female Social Rep

The Social Reps look after the fun things in hall: they organise the parties, spend the budget and generally become the people you like most on the committee. On the other hand, the success or failure of the Hall Ball rests squarely on their shoulders, so their job isn’t perfect.

Catherine

Jules Findlay

Male Social Rep

The Social Reps look after the fun things in hall: they organise the parties, spend the budget and generally become the people you like most on the committee. On the other hand, the success or failure of the Hall Ball rests squarely on their shoulders, so their job isn’t perfect.

Jules

Katherine Howard

Female Charities Rep

The Charities Rep has the challenging task of arranging events such that a group of impoverished students can be ‘encouraged’ into donating their money towards the Hall Charity, chosen afresh every year. Regs has an illustrious history of throwing particularly exciting charities events, and Katherine is the latest in a long line to continue the tradition.

Katherine

Matt Smith

Alumni Rep

This newly created position has the difficult task of arranging events for those who are no longer attending the greatest hall in St Andrews, but still want to be involved in Hall Events. In addition, he will be looking after more iconic aspects of the Hall, such as the Crest and the Constitution.

Matt

Ellen MacDougall

Librarian

The Librarian’s role is fairly self-explanatory: she looks after the Library, and particularly the books and other sundries contained within its hallowed cabinets. If you need a book (or, hopefully, DVDs), she’s the lady to talk to.

Ellen

Alexander Lindley

Overseas Rep

People who come to Regs from across the waves can occasionally find it difficult to integrate into hall society at first. The Overseas Rep’s job is to ensure that they can get involved as swiftly and as comfortably as possible. Also, he gives out chocolate near Christmas. Which is always good.

Alex

Mareike Oldemeinen

Publicity Rep

St Regulus Hall is one of the smallest halls of residence in St Andrews, and as a result, we’re often overlooked by the rest of the University. Because of how awesome we are, we decided that this state of affairs couldn’t continue: hence, the Publicity Rep. She has the additional job of making sure in hall events are well publicised.

Mareike

Chelsea Pompadur

Female Sports Rep

The job of the Sports Rep is to organise and encourage people within hall to take part in the inter-residence Sports Competition, and organise any other sporting events the hall takes part in.

Chelsea

Caroline Lloyd

Returning Students Rep

Each year, Regs is joined by several students who are not Freshers, but who have not previously lived in Regs. These people often find it challenging to get involved in Regs Student Life, and so we have our Returning Students Rep, whose task it is to get these shrinking violets involved with all of the Hall Spirit.

Caroline

Rachel Armor

Culture Rep

A brand new position for the upcoming academic year, the Culture Rep exists in order to help integrate the Regs community with the more dramatic and musical aspects of university life. This will include promoting the plays and musical events that hall residents are involved in, as well as setting up similar events in hall.

Rachel

Cory Benfield

Technology Rep

The Technology Rep is, self-evidently, the best position within the Hall Committee. As well as being Webmaster, he’s required to save all of the students from their computers. Yeah, he’s pretty awesome.

From: Oxford, England; Melbourne, Australia

Subject: MPhys Physics

Interests: music, gaming, socialising
